We Hardly Notice We’re Vegan

We Hardly Notice We’re Vegan

That’s crazy, considering how much I love meat. Here’s what we had for supper last night:VeganThat’s English roast potatoes: Boil potatoes until they’re nearly done, then toss them with oil or vegan margarine and salt and roast them at 450F for about an hour.

And that’s mushrooms, young green beans, and fresh sage browned in olive oil.

Boy, oh, boy, was it ever good. We slid into vegetarian for dessert: blueberries, French vanilla yogurt, and sugar-toasted slivered almonds.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Write a conversation over dinner, including the food, but not letting the food obscure the pace and tension of the conversation. Yes, I sure have seen “My Dinner With Andre.” Many times.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.
