Tortoise and Tortoiseshell on #Caturday

Sweetie PieSweetie Pie Turner here.

The other day, when MomGoth was coming to visit, she came up these steps and heard a clunk in the box I’ve drawn a red arrow to. The box is overshadowed by the holly tree in front of it, so it doesn’t have any plants in it, but it has dirt in the bottom.

TurtleBoxWhen she peeked in, look what she saw!

MomGoth took the turtle out of the box and put it on the grass, and guess what? Two days later, Charlie said there was a box turtle by their back porch eating their blueberries! Mom says no good deed goes unpunished. MomGoth says, that’s gratitude for ya.

MomGoth showed me a picture of the tortoise and told me to look at the shell, that that’s why I’m called a tortoiseshell cat. Actually, she says some people and places would call me a calico, because I have white on me, and some would call me a tortie-and-white. What do you think?

Tortoiseshell or Calico or Tortico or Tortie-and-White?

    Hello, Sweetie Pie!
I say when you’ve got a bunch of colors, you’re a tortie. Or a calico. Hmm. I’m not so sure now.

She IS a pretty cat, Jane. She’s well-named, too, because she IS a Sweetie Pie. 🙂
