Big Damn Heroes and Villains at Fandom Fest 2014

Jane asked for pictures from Fandom Fest 2014, so here they are. No, I didn’t snap any actual celebrities, although they were there. I was disappointed that I didn’t get a snap of Hello Kitty (aka Commander Troi from ST:TNG). She was there, but our paths didn’t cross, which was probably a good thing. I would have embarrassed myself. Totally.

I snapped some good ST shirts, though:

ME: A red shirt! You're DOOMED! Kid: Yeah, I lost a bet.

DeadRedShirtsILovePunsI had to get a couple of Indiana Jones snappies for Sara Marian:i ndianaArchaeologyAnd a Deadpool for the grandsons:

And, speaking of Doctor Who:

He says to me, he says, "It's Tigger on the inside."

J.H. Glaze‘s new book poster:

BestCoverEverOnly one Terry Pratchett Discworld costume that I saw, but he was a pip!

It's true. A wizard's staff DOES have a knob on the end.

And, of course, FIREFLY.

Our neighboring merchant was a wowser of an artist, Geoffrey Gwin (both G’s hard).

GeoffreyHe was drawing to order, so I asked for Doctor Doom. It’s the only thing I bought, and I’m glad I did. Look at ALL THIS AWESOME!

Doom is saying, “Marian! You might be more awesome than DOOM!!”

Wow.

So Fandom Fest 2014 was pretty much a total win. Prolly going back next year.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: A character runs into a celebrity at a convention and thinks he or she is a fan in a costume.

Thanks for the Con report. Yeah, PICTURES!

I hear that Harry Potter/Danial Radclffe walked the recent Comicon in a full Spiderman suit. And aside from everyone’s remarking, “Say, isn’t that a really short Spiderman?” his disguise was successful.
