Interlopers Observed #Caturday

Sweetie Pie Turner here.

Ever since Joe, the dog who lived with MomGoth and Charlie, died, we’ve been invaded by interlopers. I thought interloper was some kind of a deer, but MomGoth explained that it just means somebody who doesn’t belong. She said we’re the interlopers in the deers‘ habitat.

The interlopers she’s talking about are Wolf and Victoria, the Schmeltz’ dogs, who come up here now and bark all over the place.

Even worse are the cats! Interloper cats! MomGoth says that her late cat, Katya, used to hate interloper cats. So did my late brother Ozzie. Of course, Ozzie was an interloper cat when he went down to MomGoth’s and stared in the front window so Katya would freak out.

One of the interloper cats is Blackie O’Neille, who lives with the O’Neilles in the house across from the head of our driveway. He’s a cute little guy, and I don’t mind him. He just comes up the drive and looks around. I just wish he wouldn’t bring all the O’Neille chickens with him; they make me nervous.

watching for interlopers
Here I am in my interloper watching lookout post. On the floor, you can see the baptismal font where I used to baptize all the stuffed animals I could drag there.

The other one is Calico Schmeltz (MomGoth comes up with these names — she called one stray dog Woody Barker because he stood back inside the treeline and barked all day and half the night). Calico Schmeltz comes right up on the deck, and I don’t like that. She runs away like a rabbit when MomGoth sees her, which makes me think Calico must be up to no good. I always duck and cover when I’m up to no good and MomGoth catches me at it.

    Hello Sweetie Pie,
I think we should all do our duty to watch out for Interlopers. I see you are doing a fine job at your house. Well done!

My neighbor Don told me a few days ago that all his garden has been nibbled up by groundhogs and deer. I thanked him very seetly for keeing them away from MY tomatoes. Fortunately, he laughed and stated he was glad his garden was doing someone some good!

Sweetie Pie is on top of the job. She’s also the bird and squirrel sheriff.
