Is it Gibberish — I mean FRIDAY again already?
Yes, it is, so let’s get crackin’.
Seanan’s Tumbler is one of those things you can’t explain, mansplain, girlsplain, or plain in any way whatsoever. You just have to go there and click on Random until your head asplodes from nodding at it so much.
If you don’t already follow Jim C. Hines’ blog, you’re welcome. I especially like this post about mansplaining.
I can’t remember if I’ve shared this one before, but I have to follow that last one with this one: The Art of Manliness, specifically this infographic on how to gird up one’s loins.
You may have an urban fantasy story you’ve written. You may be looking for a market. Well, here’s one for you: Urban Fantasy Magazine, appropriately enough.
I’m attending Magna cum Murder, as I usually do, and I’m on a panel with Michael Stanley. YAY! I adore the No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency books set in Botswana, and here comes Mr. Stanley with a gourmet cop detective in Botswana. I dance I dance I dance. His detective is nicknamed Kubu, which means hippopotamus. Him – me – separated at birth.
Have fun!
A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Give one of your characters a nickname. Does he/she know what it is and who uses it? What does he/she think of it?

October 10, 2014 at 8:05amI like nicknames. My cats have all kinds of names, usually not the ones they started out with. So what if you name somebody Molly and then have to switch it to Squirrel. Or Pearl, Or anything else that rhymes with Squirrel. And there was the Fluffy Man. Or Mr. Hotdog. Or Big’un. Or Big Daddy. Or the Hungry Girls.
Well….anyway, I like nicknames.
