Sweetie Pie’s Surprise #Caturday

Sweetie PieSweetie Pie Turner here.

It’s the first of the month, so it’s no surprise that MomGoth has a new Hot Flash on her Hot Flashes page.

No, here’s the surprise:

Surprise !Cats! MomGoth has adopted two of them! Amidala is a tortoiseshell (like me, but without my beautiful white patches) and is 15 years old. Munchkin is a marmalade, like my late brother, Ozzie, and is way older than 15, but they don’t know how much older. Amidala was adopted as a kitten by a kind-hearted man; the man recently let Munchkin in off the street. Then the kind man passed away, leaving eight cats without their Forever Person.

When MomGoth saw these two oldies, she thought, “Nobody is going to want to adopt those geezers.” So now she has two cats.

Amidala, she tells me, is a lot like Katya — snuggly to MomGoth, nasty to the other cat! And mouthy, MomGoth says.

AmidalaSnoozeMunchkin is only a skelington covered in skin. A trip to the vet told them that he has almost no teeth, so he hasn’t had a lot of food in a household with eight hungry cats.

munchskinnyBelieve it or not, he’s even thinner than the picture makes him look, MomGoth assures me.

MomGoth is as happy as a pig in gravy.

And yes, the new kitties will be taking over for me on Caturday, although I won’t give up posting entirely. I’m more than happy to share the duties, though.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR ANIMALS: If your Forever Person left, would you rather get adopted by somebody else, run away and live in the wild, or fade into nothing?

I think it’s entirely wonderful for you to take up these geezer cats, Marian. It can be very rewarding to care for these (generally) mellow and appreciative seniors. They know who they are, instead of, like younger cats, being in the midst of trying out every possible cat personality in the world before they settle on the one they like most. They usually know lost of words (and admit they do), are interested in your expressions and opinions, and still can play like kittens when they save up for it. Congrats.

Munchie seems pretty mellow, but Ami is BOSSYPANTS! She’s all NOW! NOW! lol I’m looking forward to putting a little meat on Munchkin’s bones. HE TRIED TO GET INTO BED WITH CHARLIE LAST NIGHT! Charlie was like, “What? No!” That cat is all about Charlie!
