Making Memes

So I belong to this Facebook group called the BBTCafe, made up mostly of past graduates of Dani Greer’s Blog Book Tour classes. Dani (aka Sarge) has got us making memes now.

Actually, that’s a misnomer, although who’s going to tell the Sarge? Not I, that’s who. According to dictionary.reference.com, a meme is “a cultural item that is transmitted by repetition and replication in a manner analogous to the biological transmission of genes.” or “a cultural item in the form of an image, video, phrase, etc., that is spread via the Internet and often altered in a creative or humorous way.”

What Dani has us doing is making pictures, telling one another where the pictures are posted, reposting one another’s pictures, and hoping they become memes. So far, none of mine have, insofar as I know. But I’m having fun doing them. I’m using picmonkey, with a little help from The GIMP. I’ve been using quotes from A DEAD GUY AT THE SUMMERHOUSE.

ANYWAY, I’m posting today at Fatal Foodies on a quick, easy, and delicious vegetarian dish.

A DEAD GUY AT THE SUMMERHOUSE is available in paper and for Kindle and Kindle apps.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

If you really want to make some memes, you need to find classic pictures that are made for memes. Just image search in google, it will add a lot more humor to these.
