Post Christmas Munchie #Caturday

MunchyFaceSmHi, I’m Munchkin.

We had a thing called Christmas here, which Amidala and I didn’t like very much. MA and Pop were gone a lot, and came back smelling like food. MA made some food to take with them, but GUESS WHAT? MA AND POP ARE PRACTICALLY VEGETARIAN, so nothing MA made had meat in it! Amidala tells me that cats are “obligatory carnivores”, which means we have to eat meat to be healthy. I know I have to eat meat to be happy.

MA put up a tiny little tree with shiny lights on it. So Amidala and I decided to get into the spirit of the season and turn our own lights on.

AmiChristmasPretty good, eh?

MA brought us a toy that bounces and lights up, but we don’t care about it. At our ages, we don’t want to play; we want to eat and sleep.

I left Charlie a present on the hearth, but he didn’t appreciate it any more than we did the toy. It was a gift straight from my heart, though — or at least straight from my bladder.

Now, “Munchie” is not only my nickname, I’m called that for a reason: I LOVE TO EAT! So here’s  a recipe for a Christmas Munchie that I would like. If MA reads this, maybe she’ll make some:

Sausage Balls

  • 1 lb ground sausage
  • 2 cups biscuit baking mix
  • 1 lb sharp cheddar cheese, grated

Mix it all together and roll it into balls. Bake at 350 F for 20 to 25 minutes or until the sausage is cooked through. A friendly cat will be happy to check the doneness for you.

MA looked this recipe up for me on AllRecipes. She says she might make us some for our Gotcha Day, the anniversary of when we came to live with her and Pop, if I keep taking my medicine and gain some weight. I’m licking my chops!

A WRITING PROMPT FOR ANIMALS: What did you get for Christmas? What would you like to get for Christmas? What would you like to give your human for Christmas?

We used to have these often. I’ll have to prod my wife to make them again now – thanks.

You’re welcome! I love them, but I never make them. They’re about four thousand calories each, I think. 😀

Fun stuff. I love meeting you cat people. Really wonderful Christmas lights. Wish I could do that.

Marian, I think your bourbon balls say Christmas to me. I can taste them right now. Yum!

I don’t make them much anymore. When Mom can eat them, I’ll make them. We’re working on it! 🙂
