Ask me about my chicken feet is not the invitation one normally sees on a shirt or bumper sticker. I had to order the button custom-made.
Ask Me About My Chicken Feet
Yes, they’ll make just about anything for ya at a spec fic convention.
I’ve had people ask me, when I’m wearing it, if it’s a reference to vodun, but it isn’t. It’s partly about my approach/avoidance attitude toward chicken feet as food (I want to try it, but I dare not).
Mostly, though, it’s about Baba Yaga. I grew up reading Baba Yaga stories in Hightlights Magazine. I love Baba Yaga stories. I may write one myself, some day.
Meanwhile, I’ll content myself with my pin. Hold the chicken feet.
A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Write a story with a formidable witch in it.

January 15, 2015 at 9:47pmI’m generally happy to TRY anything that’s not likely to kill me – once. The phrase, in our family, is “Would you order it again?” Chicken feet? Nope.

January 15, 2015 at 9:42pmFrightening and cool how often we’re on a wavelength, isn’t it? (I had not read your post when I wrote mine; I suspect the same is true in reverse?)
