Is it Friday yet? Oh, it is? Good. Good.
You need a laugh, don’t you? Sure you do. Everybody needs a laugh now and then. If you’re me (or is it I?), you’ll get one from The Funny Thing. The posts are short and, to me, funny. Not hit-you-between-the-eyes-with-a-stunning-array-of-profanity-and-odd-metaphors funny, but talking-to-a-lively-friend funny. Not necessarily mutually exclusive, I realize even as I say it.
Women You Should Know isn’t just about women and it isn’t just about Famous People. Some of the articles are about girls, a lot of the articles are about “just” “regular” girls, like the one who plays killer guitar, and the ones who asked for canned goods instead of birthday presents, to donate to the local food pantry. You know — females who are inspiring in some way, who represent humanity in a way we can be proud of. Pretty cool.
The Koffster has stopped by the blog and commented a couple of times, so I went and had a look at his site. Dude is all about coffee! Your one-stop-shop for all things coffee: reviews of coffee, brewers, and grinders; how-to articles; you name it!
Charlie sent me this article from the New York Times Review of Books on Beatrix Potter. Except for the author of the article’s deplorable taste in disliking Renee Zellweger’s Miss Potter movie, it’s a super article on the subversion that underlies the happy little books, especially The Tale of Two Bad Mice.
Have a cup of coffee and enjoy!
A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Write a scene with coffee and mice in it.

So I’m sitting here drinking my coffee, and I start reading about The Ghost Ride! Holy Hannah! That Lady has more creepy past than I do, and that’s just based on ONE story! I shall be taking The Funny Thing in small doses, I see.
Thanks for the recommend!
