Runaway Sweetie Pie! #Caturday

the queenAmidala speaking.

It must be contagious! Last week, Munchkin went off for a visit to the neighbors, and this week, Sweetie Pie ran away for the whole day!

MaMA has come back to live with us (and we’re all very happy for it: she, Charles, Munchkin, and I), but she was spending the day at Granny’s. In the late afternoon, she and Granny realized they hadn’t seen Sweetie Pie all day!

MaMA looked all over the house and in the basement, but no Sweetie Pie. She and Granny called inside and outside, and finally Sweetie Pie showed up at the side door.

They should have known. Sweetie Pie sits in the front window or front door (when it’s open to the storm door) and stares out.

Runaway Sweetie Pie

runaway Sweetie PieShe must have slipped out when Charles brought the newspaper that morning. MaMA says that it seems to have been enough to last her for a while, because now Sweetie Pie runs away every time the door is opened.

Do I feel the call to wander? I do not!

I know it’s anything but hilarious when your cat buddy runs away, but JEEZ!

I once lost the tricky Blackjack a SECOND time!
My friends were helping me move out of my apartment and into my first house (!) when BJ came up missing. My bro had run through the place with a humongous armload of clothes on hangers and torn down the stairs to the car. After that, the door was open. After that, I was missing BJ.

I, too, did the thorough search of the house. We even all searched the outer environs, too. Not happily, because it was about 90% humidity and already 80 (briefly at 7:00 am). Sweltering Ohio Valley morning.

About 45 minutes later, BJ was spotted calmly sitting on the couch. Under which he must have been clinging by his toenails, because I would’ve sworn he was GONE!

Happy Caturday, Amidala, the Good One!

*BJ* was hanging onto the underside of the couch? You should have tried to move it — the extra weight would have told you where he was. Amazing, how a cat the size of a full-grown black panther can just disappear! He was a Ninja, for sure! lol

oh wow1 So glad you are safe!

In the glory days of his youth Nikita once got left outside all day and had quite the story to share on the blog he & daddy had at the time.

He never was that curious again, hee, hee!

Amidala doesn’t understand why Sweetie Pie wanted to go out! Munchkin was a Ramblin’ Guy when he turned up at their old home, but Sweetie Pie is a homebody. Besides that, there’s a black cat who comes around and threatens her from outside. We suppose the squirrels were just too much of a temptation for her!
