Okay, the ink jockey this blog belongs to says for me to tell you she has what she calls a Hot Flash up on her Hot Flash page. Kind of embarrassing, but she says it means a real, real short story.
Anywho, I’m Sandy Schneider (real name’s Alexander, if you can believe it — named after my old man’s grampa, so I’m told). I’m cook up to the Hardesty house in Faelin, Indiana. I guess Mr. Matthew Walton would rather me call it the Walton house, but me and Alain Hardesty served together in Dubya-Dubya Two — World War Two, for you youngsters — and it’s still the Hardesty place, as far as I’m concerned, no matter who owns it.
This scribble sister who wrote our story said for me to keep it short since this is for the A to Z Blog Challenge, but she wants me to give you a recipe. So I can’t tell you exactly how I make this, but you’ll make it like you like it anyway, right?
Miss Amelia likes these real well.
Artichoke Sandwiches
- artichoke hearts (yeah, I use canned ones, so what?) minced
- minced onion
- minced parsley
- roasted garlic clove
- mayonnaise (home-made, if you can)
- salt and pepper
Squash the garlic and mix it in with the mayo. Mix everything else together. Slice some fresh bread real thin and cut off the crusts. Spread the artichoke stuff on, not too heavy.
Now go visit Animal Bliss, another blog on this crazy challenge.

Sandy Schneider appears in A DEAD GUY AT THE SUMMERHOUSE, a YA/NA paranormal suspense novel. Available through Indiebound, and from Amazon in print and for Kindle and the free Kindle apps.

April 1, 2015 at 3:33pmI love ’em, too, S. L. If there’s spinach artichoke dip on the menu, it’s a pretty good bet what I’m ordering! A place around here makes artichoke fritters that are TO DIE FOR!
Good luck on the challenge right back atcha. 🙂 Coming to return your visit in 3 … 2 … 1 …
