James and Junk #Caturday @AprilA2Z

MunchyFaceSmHi, I’m Munchkin. It’s my turn to blog, but Amidala got to host the A-to-Z Blog Challenge character blog last week, so I wanted to do one, too. MA said she had just the character for me: James Michener Franklin (Mitch), the main character in A DEAD GUY AT THE SUMMERHOUSE.

I was really excited, because I always wanted my name to be James, although I’m pretty used to Munchkin now. But, when she told me why she thought I would like JMF, I got really excited, and you’ll see why.

Hi, I’m Mitch. Well, James, legally, but everybody calls me Mitch.

Meet MitchThere aren’t any cats in my book, but I like cats. I probably wouldn’t be alive today, if it wasn’t for a cat.

I’m an orphan, but not because my family died. Or maybe not because my family died.

I said in the book that the cops found me in a dumpster. That’s the short version. The longer version is that somebody wrapped me up in newspaper (I’ve been behind the Times ever since — ha ha) and put me there. The cop who found me said he was passing the dumpster when a big orange cat popped its head up out of the dumpster and started carrying on to beat the band. The cop was a cat lover, so he went over to see what was the matter, and he saw this lump of newspaper moving.

The cop report (I got hold of it years later) said he figured whoever had me probably thought I was born dead and got scared and dumped me, and the cat laid down on me and warmed me up. Nobody knows why it started yowling. Maybe I bit its tail or something.

So that’s the biggest reason why I like cats, I guess.

Hey, go over and take a look at Jay Noel‘s site: it’s about Egyptian gods and stuff.

How cool is that? See why I got so excited! MA put a cat like me in the main character’s backstory! I told Amidala not to be jealous, ’cause MA will probably put a cat like her in a backstory, too. Ami said, “I’m not jealous! Hmph!” So I hope MA does a story for Ami, because Ami is my best friend.

ArtichokeMA says A DEAD GUY AT THE SUMMERHOUSE is a YA/NA paranormal suspense, and you can buy it through Indiebound or at Amazon in print and electronic versions.

    How swell is that?

The cat in MY backstory has got to be Nicholas. He was just there through SO many events. Sometimes I think back over something that happened and wonder how I got through it, then I remember: Nicky was there. I got to go home and cuddle the biggest cat in the world. And he was OK with that.

    OH OH!!
Ami is in Faruhk’s backstory. So, the way HE tells it: A beautiful Queen taught him all his stories! And it was Queen Amidala!
    YEAH!!

I like that! Of course, there IS a tortoiseshell cat in SAGE, but it’s a rare male tortie. But there’s a cat in Farukh’s creation story, told by Kinnan in Moder Zglaria’s cottage. Yeah, THAT WAS AMI! ~big grin~
