It’s been an eventful week here.
MaMA went up the drive to #1 Daughter’s house to see the new kitten there. Then she let me artistify the picture she took of it.
MaMA said #1 Daughter said the bigger cats used to bully Penny, but then Penny turned the tables on them and chased them out of the house! Personally, I believe Penny got wind of Sneakers, The Texian Tuxedo.
Granny’s cat, Sweetie Pie, had to go to the vet, and ended up having a sleepover there! MaMA said Sweetie Pie had a geriatric tumor on her poor face and had to have it removed. There was a dog in for an operation before her, and that took so long she didn’t wake up in time to come home. MaMA talked one of the very nice people at the vet’s office into meeting her at 8:30 am the next day so she could have Sweetie Pie home by the time Granny woke up. Here’s Sweetie Pie (or, as MaMA calls her now, Frankenkitty).
The vet was very proud and happy because Sweetie Pie is DOWN to 15 pounds. She did weigh 22 pounds, so 15 is a success story for her.
Meanwhile, Munchkin is putting on weight, which is a success story for him. MaMA is feeding us Sheba from little cans. She just ordered a case of it, so we’ll probably stop eating it soon.
A WRITING PROMPT FOR ANIMALS: Are you the alpha animal in your house? Is your human the boss of you, or are you the boss of your human?

August 22, 2015 at 8:46amSince I would buy their food before I’d buy myself some, then I guess we know who rules here!
Ami, thanks for the colorful update!
Very glad Mr. Munchfella is putting on the weight. Ms. Squirrel is now at a very nice level and feels really snuggly when I hug her. She’s still svelte and ballerina-like, of course.
Is Sweetie Pie on her way to being the 6 million $ kitty yet?

August 22, 2015 at 8:52amMunchkin has cost more in just this year than Sweetie Pie has in her whole life. This vet is surprisingly affordable on the big-ticket items. It’s meds that kick you in the teeth, and Muncher takes thyroid meds twice daily. Good thing his Daddy left him a trust fund! It does me good, though, to see some meat packing onto those skinny bones. –The vet didn’t even charge us for Sweetie Pie’s overnight stay, since it was their decision to keep her over.
