Interesting Weirdass Other Thing Gives Martha Stewart, Kitchen Overlord, Migraine #FridayRecommends

Friday RecommendsI must begin by apologizing. Any one of these sites could keep you busy all day. But I’m afraid I’ll forget to pass them on if I try to parcel them out. So proceed with caution!

Want to know some interesting stuff about literature? Check out Interesting Literature: A Library Of Literary Interestingness. It is … wait for it … interesting!

Want to know something random, possibly geeky, filmy, and/or techy? Architecture? Games? Food? Lists of facts about writers? Check out the wonderfully named Weirdass. You’re welcome.

How about some gorgeous photography and lovely prose and poetry? I recommend to your notice This, that, and the other thing: looking at life through writing and photography.

Now, you wouldn’t think so to see my house, but I adore Martha Stewart. I could browse her site all day. It’s like homemaker porn.

My new absolute favorite site ever is Kitchen Overlord. Ermigerd! So awesome! Coloring books and coloring pages! Hobbit cookbooks (er, cookbooks such as Hobbits might use, not such as Hobbits might appear in as ingredients)! Recipes! It’s geek cook heaven!

If you want to find some new authors — authors you might not come across on your own, who maybe write stuff you don’t ordinarily read — check out the incredibly generous Crystal Miles Gauthier’s Author Migraine, where she interviews and spotlights other authors.

That oughta keep you busy!

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Write five interesting facts about yourself. True facts, if possible.

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

    Great recommends.

I loved reacquainting myself with Twain’s rules of writing in relation to James Fenimore Cooper. I also like the link to Michael Moorcock’s methods for writing a book in three days (!).

Also of interest is the Eric James interview at the Author Migraine site. I just saw an interesting news story about a newly -verified photo of Jessie James with his murderer Robert Ford (!). Strange stuff.
