Fish and All That #Pescatarian

A pescatarian is a vegetarian who eats fish. I eat damn near everything, but fish is one of them.

Yesterday on Fatal Foodies, I posted about some really good cauliflower and a garlicky sauce that went with it. I had some left over, so we had this:

tilapiaDown there at the bottom, that’s tilapia with the sauce spread around it all plate-the-fish-like. To cook the tilapia, I dredge it in vegan margarine and sprinkle it with salt, crushed dried parsley, celery, and seasoned breadcrumbs. I cook it on medium low in a skillet for about 7 minutes, turn it over and cook it for another 7 minutes or so. DAMN, it’s good!

The red-and-white stuff is roasted radishes. Somebody told me roasted radishes were good. Let me put it this way: They tasted like indifferent cabbage, but they were still the best radishes I ever had.

Above the fish is a risotto of arborio rice, mushrooms, Sherry, and Parmesan. Very good.

At the top is a dish of which I am very fond. It’s cottage cheese, raspberry-flavored peaches, and mayonnaise. Don’t knock it if you ain’t tried it, as my grandfather used to say.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Write a scene in which your character tries something they expect to be distasteful. Is it, or not?

It all looks good, but I’m sorry to say that I lost interest moving from bottom to top. I like tilapia and that looks to be a very nice preparation. I like radishes, but I don’t think I’ve ever had them cooked. If my wife ever tried to cook with them, I ate them raw before she had a chance. I do like parsnips but I have no idea if they are close. Risotto is good, but I have never been able to eat cottage cheese.

You’re welcome to any radishes that may come my way, Dan. I do not like them in a boat. I do not like them with a goat.
