I went to Point Blank Brewing Thursday, as I generally do on Thursday, and got their Loaded Fries. These are so not vegan! Not even vegetarian! They’re fries, okay, a big load of ’em, laden with crumpled bacon, diced green onions, and beer cheese. I asked for cheddar instead of beer cheese, but that didn’t happen. But that’s okay. If I had objected, they would have brought me my preference with an apology and a smile, but I like beer cheese okay, I just had a fancy for something different.
ANYWAY, I could only eat half my order. Maybe it was the Left Hand Brewing Company’s Wake Up Dead Imperial Stout I had with it, or maybe it was the soft pretzel the size of a hubcap I had as an appetizer.
At any rate, I brought half of it home. The next day, it looked pretty ratty, all congealed and all, so I chopped it up.
Put in in a pot, added some milk and margarine, and BOOM! LOADED POTATO SOUP!
Was it good? Oh, my dear lord, yes.
