So Alike, So Different #Caturday

the queenAmidala speaking.

MaMA’s mother’s cat, Sweetie Pie, and I have never met, but we seem to be on the same wavelength in many ways.

First, we’re both calicoes. BUT, I’m a tortoiseshell and she’s a torbie (tortie/tabby).

Myself, a tortoiseshell.

We’re different in that … well, not to put too fine a point on it, I’m thin and she’s … as Mma Ramotswe puts it, “traditionally built.”

I love to sit on laps, and Sweetie Pie, although she loves to be petted, hates to sit on laps!

Sweetie Pie has never ever ever had a bath, and MaMA has given me a couple of them. MaMA says that’s because Sweetie Pie cleans herself, and I don’t. And that’s because I’m rather elderly (I’ll be 17 in April) and Sweetie Pie is only about 10. When her bones feel like mine do, I doubt she’ll be twisting like a pretzel, either.

We both like to get on top of anything anyone is working on and have to be pushed off. (I’m far easier to push than Sweetie Pie!)

We both like to beg for people food and then refuse to eat it, once we’ve licked it.

We both prefer to barf on rugs than on anything easily cleaned. If we can do it where our humans won’t see it until it soaks in and dries OR where our humans will step in it while it’s still squidgy, all the better.

Sweetie Pie loves to look out of the window at what MaMA (who feeds them for Granny) calls the song chickens (birds) and fur chickens (squirrels), but all I want to do is eat and snuggle/sleep.

Snuggle/sleeping. This is how it's done.

As a matter of fact, I feel a nap coming on right now.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR ANIMALS: How are you alike or different from Sweetie Pie and/or me?

How have your cats never met each other?

We have five small dogs (shih tzu, 3 rat terriers, and a yorkie) and they are all friends. My dogs sleep all day and all night. They are exhausted if they don’t get at least 18 hours of sleep a day. Lol

Amidala is mine and lives at my house and Sweetie Pie is Mom’s and lives at Mom’s house. lol! I should have said so. I know Mom and I live in different houses, but you don’t know that. ~shaking my head at myself~ THIS is why writers need Beta readers! πŸ˜‰

Your little dogs sound like just my sort. A stuffed animal would do just as well for me, as long as it was warm and purred. lol

Got to the party late this weekend.
Ami and Sweetie Pie are both such lovely people. It’s always a treat to visit with them.
    Thanks.
