Where Are They At — #FoundPoem

Here’s another poem from the heart of the heartland from the call-in line at our weekly newspaper. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Where Are They At
by Anonymous Caller

WhereAtI’ve been watching
these voting polls and stuff
on the news program
here on TV.

Where’s the other races?
Where are they at?

The ones that do most of the
griping and complaining.

Of course, I gripe too.

Where are they at?

There’s usually one race
that’s usually in the voting lines.

You know,
people,
think about it.

Can’t you just hear the bongos and hear the fingers snapping? If that ain’t beat poetry, I don’t know what is.

I’m posting today at Fatal Foodies about what we had for St. Patrick’s Day — pertater soup.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Who is your main character voting for and why? If your main character is not American or doesn’t live in this year or on this planet, the question still applies within your character’s setting.
