All Them Weeds #FoundPoem

A word to the wise from an anonymous caller to our weekly newspaper’s Live Wire column.

All Them Weeds
by Anonymous Caller

I just want to put out a reminder
to the people
that rent your land out
to the chicken and turkey
farmers.
Just remember,
they’re spreading
that chicken and turkey poop
all
over
your
land
that’s drawing in aggressive weeds.
I know for a factallthemweeds
because it has happened to me.
Then,
whenever they quit
or you raise the price,
there you go;
you’ve got
all
them
weeds
to work with.
Just remember that.

So, be told.

I’m posting today at Fatal Foodies about pasta fazool. Yum!

Yum. The recipe looks great. I used to make something with beans and pork bits, with something else (OK. I don’t remember. That’s why I’m not the recipe woman.) And it was great. Italian trattoria style.

I really love the weeds poem. I know from weeds. Used to have space grass in my backyard. Had to cut every 4 days, without fail (Every 6-7 in strong drought conditions) But, howdy, how stuff would grow! Tomatoes went berserk! And when it rained, nightcrawlers would dart across the sidewalk like actual snakes! And the smaller worms would wiggle up onto the porch en masse. It was SO creepy!

Your recipe sounds yum! Poor little piggies — dammit, why do they have to taste so delicious?

That place sounds all “feed me, Seymour.” Glad you don’t live there any more. ~shudder~

Good to know. Not that I can rent land to chickens, but just in case.

I’d rather rent to chickens than ducks, because ducks never pay their bill. A-HA-HA-HA-HA-HAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

The spot where our chicken coop and pen burned down had the thickest grass pop up this spring. It was so weird seeing grass there because when the chickens were alive there wasn’t ever a blade of grass in their yard. Oh the power of chicken poop!

    Your pasta looks delicious!
