How To Get Egg-Mamas in Zen Koi #pimpmyfish

I was about to give up on playing Zen Koi. The first lady who came up to my first fish stuck right with him until she laid an egg and it hatched into a new koi. After that, nothing.

That first koi transcended into a dragon, and the second koi …. The ladies just would not have him. They would come up and flirt with him, but then they would swim away. See, the way it works is that, whenever a lady comes up to your fish, your fish gets a circle around him with a progress bar on it. If the lady stays in the circle long enough for the progress bar to get all the way around, an egg happens.

So these ladies were all, “Come here, come here, I’m leaving, I’m leaving fast.” And you’re supposed to follow them to keep them in the circle.

I was like, “Nuh-uh, I don’t think so.” So I decided to concentrate on enhancing my fish and to just ignore those teasers.

KoiPimpYou eat lots of bugs, and you get points to allocate. I buffed my fish up to be agile and quick and able to pass on rare genes to his offspring so guess what? Yeah, that’s right: the ladies went nuts for him!

KoiEggThe thing in the background that looks like an egg? That’s an egg. The thing in the upper right corner is a puffer fish unpuffed.

KoiHatchlingAwwww, he looks just like his mommy! Yeah, the rare genes attract ’em, and you keep ’em in your circle by repeatedly tapping them on the head. I do not recommend this in real life, not for fish and DEFINITELY not for people.

Shortly after that ….

Magic!
Magic!

And BOOM!

So that’s how you do it. Eat your bugs. Get fast and agile and pack in those rarity genes. Tap those ladies on their flirty heads and you’ll have more eggs than you can hatch!

I’m posting today at Fatal Foodies about a really really good soup we had the other night.
