I was SO PROUD this weekend at Imaginarium Creative Writing Convention — my very most favorite convention ever — when Per Bastet Publications, the small press I’m part of, won an award.
Okay, yeah, that’s two awards, but one of is my Kerosene Kommendation, awarded by the amazingly talented Kylie Jude to a non-staffer who works zealously to promote the Imaginarium convention.
The other award is the Sizemore Award, named after the also amazingly talented Jason Sizemore, for small press excellence. MAN, we were stoked! Naturally, we flaunted our awards on our sales table the next day!
You know, you try really really hard to do a good job, just because you want to do a good job. Just because doing a good job is what people do. Then, to get recognition and congratulations for it … that just makes you feel fine.
So: happy. 🙂
I’m posting today at Fatal Foodies about something that looks like a kidney, but isn’t.
A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Your character receives an award.

We work so hard, and this is an award from peers.
Kudos to your publisher and you. You’re obviously doing something right.
