Best Coffee Ever — Aladdin’s!

It’s hard for me to pick a favorite Mediterranean restaurant in the Louisville, Kentucky area because I have several. But Aladdin’s in New Albany, Indiana is the only one where I’ve had Turkish coffee.

The Aladdin’s website needs to be updated: as of this writing, they still have their old address on there. They’ve moved a block south to the courtyard of The Underground Station. The menu and probably the phone number are the same, though. And so are the food and the coffee. And the sign.

Turkish coffee is made in a special pot in a special way with specially prepared beans, sugar, and cardamom. It’s heavenly. Also strong.

Go get some!

After last night’s events, we’ll ALL be needing strong coffee!

That said, did you know that the addiction to sugar began for the world when the Turks just HAD to have it for their coffee?

They had to then develop sources, trade routes, and refining methods, etc, which has led to never being able to go back to unsweetened ANYthing!

    Now, let us pray.

If prayer worked, you and I would now be at The Irish Rover, raising a glass to President Wilma Mankiller and paying for it with our royalty checks.
