Christmas Gift #Caturday

Sweetie PieSweetie Pie Turner here, MomGoth’s mom’s cat.

Some cats get toys for Christmas, but I got my happiness back.

A few months ago, I bad old mouse came in to steal some bird seed and died, and his fleas hopped on me and made themselves at home. Silly me, I tried to hide it because I didn’t think a lady like myself should have fleas! By the time I let anybody know, the whole house was infested!

MomGoth took me to the vet, but the medicine (I’ll tell you what it was: Frontline PLUS) only worked for a couple of weeks. Meanwhile, the vet had MomGoth vacuuming the whole house every day to suck up any fleas that weren’t already on me. I hate that noisy vacuum!

So I was itching and scratching and biting off my own fur because I was so upset. Mom wouldn’t let me snuggle her because she was afraid of my fleas, and that made both of us sad.

MomGoth got that Epilady Flea Zapper I told you about and started combing me every day. Oh! I love that comb so much! She set up a flea trap of water and a little dish soap in a white bowl, on the floor under a hot light.

And she got me some of this calming goop so I won’t want to chew my fur off, made by the same people who make my delicious hairball prevention goop. The calming goop is a different flavor (chicken, as opposed to salmon), but it’s just as delicious.

So now I have three yums.

Oh, and MomGoth bought a plastic can with a lid that closes to put the bird seed in, so no other bad mice will smell it and sneak in and die.

And here’s the best gift of all.

Meowy Christmas, ebbybody!

It’s good to see Sweetie Pie back in fur/force. She’s been so good through all of this (according to her) and since none of this was really her fault (according to her), I think she deserves a special treat for Christmas. Maybe a can of tuna ???

Merry Christmas to Sweetie Pie and all generations of humans who care for her.

She doesn’t care for people food much. She’ll certainly get a handful of her beloved Temptations chicken-flavored crunchies. 🙂

Nothing better than a kitty cuddle! I miss them something chronic, and then Charlie points out the shoes cats have clawed, and I remember why we had to snatch clothes off the floor before they could be peeed upon, and I can hold the door open without fearing an escape. Kitty cuddles are still worth it. Worth it all, and then some.

Very nice! I’m going to look into the calming goo for FIL’s cat. Didn’t know there was such a thing! Cletus and Sadie have been mousin real good this season. Cletus chases them, Sadie intercepts and shakes them dead. We’re up to three since Halloween. I want to set some sticky traps, but The Mister is convinced the pets don’t need assistance.

The Mister may have a point, there. Sounds like you’ve got a branch of Murder, Incorporated, there. We used to have a couple of dogs who would tag team moles; one would dig at the holes and the other would lie in wait on the opposite side of the hole, and when the mole would pop out, it would run right into the jaws of death. It was pretty chilling. Nature red in tooth and claw. Of course, the moles were fat and slow from gorging on the roots of our vegetable garden, so we managed to tolerate it pretty well….
