Restoring Flea-Bitten Memories #FridayRecommends

Friday RecommendsDo you love watching restoration projects? I do. It’s like magic, innit?

Here’s a link to an amazing piece of restoration on a map that was found wadded up and shoved up a chimney. There’s a quick gif, a TL;DR quick video, and a 10-minute video. I watched ’em all.

I had lunch with Jane this past Wednesday and told her about this fabulous gadget I bought for Sweetie Pie: the Epilady Flea Zapper. Jane wanted me to post a link to it, so here’s a link to the product’s web site. I didn’t pay that price for it; I think I bought it from Amazon at a discount from the discount and got the shipping free. Sweetie Pie wants to review it tomorrow, so that’s all I’m going to say about it.

When Christmas comes, especially this year, when we’re battling Sweetie Pie’s infestation, I always remember a story my pal Kathie Hart told me about one of the kids she was teaching in elementary school. He came in all enthused about this new Christmas song, “Fleas on Your Butt.” Which kind of makes sense, since the lyrics clearly say, “I want to wish you a Merry Christmas from the bottom of my heart.”

And so, I give you:

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: What’s your main character’s favorite Christmas song? Or: write about a character’s Christmas memory. Or one of your own Christmas memories.

    Haha! “Fleas on your butt!”

I’ll be anxious for your review of the flea zapper. They make one for lice, but mommies report it’s not particularly effective. My guess is the pets enjoy the flea zapper more than the kids enjoy the lice zapper!

The flea zapper got mixed reviews, but more positive than negative. I wouldn’t imagine many kids would stand still for their heads being zapped.

Likes the recommends. The map fix was awesome! Remember when I had to piece together civil war muster rolls at the library at EKU? Also stuff that never should have been folded up.

I do remember that! But folks don’t expect their paper trash is ever going to be historical. Funny old world.
