Sweetie Pie Turner here, MomGoth’s mom’s cat.
We have a new neighbor. She’s been around for a month or two, but MomGoth just met her.
Her name is Annie Neill. She lives in the house across the road from the end of our driveway, but she thinks our land is part of her territory! She walks up the drive like she owns the place, checks out the garden, and even patrols Mom’s deck! I guess that’s okay; at least it keeps the Schmeltz hounds away. They’re noisy and bad-mannered. Annie is sweet.
MomGoth says she wishes Annie wouldn’t cross the road to our driveway, because she’s afraid Annie might get hit by a car. But she also says she hopes having Annie around will keep the deer in the woods where they belong. They come out and eat the flowers and hostas, and chew the bark off the tree trunks.
In other news, MomGoth helped me take another selfie. She posed me and adjusted the lighting, and told me, “A little to the left …. A little to the right …. Down a little …. Raise your chin …. NOW!” Here’s the result.
It was still a little dark, so MomGoth adjusted that for me in The GIMP. I like it!
MomGoth and I are still fighting the Battle of the Fleas together. I scratch and bite to show her where a flea is, and she combs it out with the Epilady Flea Zapper. MomGoth says it’s a work in progress.
A WRITING PROMPT FOR ANIMALS: How do you like it if neighbor animals walk across your porch or come into your yard or pass your apartment doorway?

December 10, 2016 at 7:35amI hope you help Sweetie Pie win the flea battle. She’d so pretty, she shouldn’t have to mess up her fur tearing after those little buggers.

December 10, 2016 at 12:14pmCute explorer dog is cute! We used to have neighbors with an outdoor cat, Thomas, and he was a nice boy. We also had a roaming tomcat who was not fixed and he was not a nice boy. He did dirty sexy stuff all over the greenery while peeping through our windows to catch a glimpse of our Clara.
As for dogs, everyone around here keeps theirs to themselves. We live too close to 465 to have any explorers. Not to say one doesn’t get loose now and again, but not for long.

December 10, 2016 at 2:37pmOh, no, a Peeping Tomcat! Our place seems to be Liberty Hall for the neighborhood fauna. We’ve had neighbors’ peacocks, chickens, guinea hens, cows, dogs, cats, and rabbits roaming around here.

December 10, 2016 at 4:13pmSweetie Pie? Can you please pass a message to MomGoth? Tell her that bi-carb of soda sprinkled on carpet and brushed in, left for 14 hours and then vacuumed up seems to work quite well. Kills the larvae or something and it’s non toxic. cheers, Meeks!

December 11, 2016 at 7:49amHi, Meeks! Sweetie Pie tells me I need to read your comment. –Oh, I like that! Hard to brush it in under the couch and Mom has wall-to-wall carpeting ALL THROUGH THE HOUSE! I think I see knee pads in my future! 😀
