Light Summer Lunch

Charlie sometimes talks about the lunches he had on the road when stationed in Germany. This was something like one of those, and I agree that it was refreshing and satisfying. If everything had been local and fresh, it would have been stellar.

That’s salami, Swiss cheese, Cheddar cheese, tomatoes from our garden, and Asiago cheese bread. Just right, on a hot day. We found it an elegant sufficiency.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: What would your main character consider a refreshing meal on a hot day? Those of you who write vampires, isn’t hot blood a little overwhelming in late July, or do your vampires not feel the heat?

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

But vampires all have fridges, A/C, and freezers. They are all smart and well equipped.
And when they hypnotize you and you enter their lair….
They also have those cool slushie freezer packs.

We are still investigating rumors of electric kettles.
        Bond has been dispatched.
This summer, Bloody Mary Cocktail. Bond and Dracula meet.
Starring Bella Lugosi, and Ed Wood!

HA HA HA ! Well, some like it cold, like Truman Capote, some like it hot like Marilyn Monroe, some like to stir of trouble, like, um, well, too many names to choose from. Some like it shaken. I’m getting too old.

I eat like this! I’d love this for dinner too with a cold glass of chardonnay. Miam, miam!
