Sweetie Pie and the Others #Caturday

Sweetie Pie Turner, here, MomGoth’s mother’s cat. Tipper is in trouble for scratching the couches — repeatedly and deliberately — but I was scheduled to post today, anyway.

The other day, when MomGoth came up to take care of Mom in the morning, she couldn’t find me. She called and called. She looked in all my hiding places. Finally, the only place left: Mom’s walk-in closet. She hadn’t looked there because Mom keeps the door closed all the time. MomGoth opened the door, and out I came!

I went in when Mom got a fresh nightgown and got shut in. Mom said, “Why didn’t you scratch at the door and meow?” This is not my way. Humans should always be aware of where their cats are. That’s what humans are for, isn’t it? But I forgive Mom, because I love her so.

I earn my keep as her protector. Other cats have been prowling around on the deck. This is Not Allowed.

Aunt #1 Daughter, just up the drive, adopted this one. She named him Simon.

These very odd-looking cats came to the side porch and ate all the bird seed! Bird seed! I ask you! MomGoth had to stop feeding the birds so these peculiar cats would go elsewhere.

Yes, that porch needs painting.

Well, as you may imagine, keeping track of all these invaders exhausts me. When MomGoth came down in the cool of the evening earlier in the month, I took the opportunity to stretch out on my favorite surface: the lining of MomGoth’s jacket. She long ago learned to spread it out on the couch for me. I won’t sit on laps, but I do love the linings of MomGoth’s coats and jackets.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR ANIMALS: Do you have a favorite napping surface?

Humans should know where their cats are, and what they prefer to lay on. Give my regards to Tipper.

Sweetie Pie agrees with you. And Tipper says hello, and regards to MiMi and MuMu. He’s not too sure about Maddie.

Hi Sweetie Pie. Lovely to hear from you again. And commiserations for getting locked in the closet. Being a resourceful cat though, I’m sure you made yourself comfortable nonetheless. Pity about Tipper. So naughty. 😀

She opened the closet-within-the-closet and curled up on some clothes stacked there. So she was, indeed, comfortable. 🙂 Tipper thinks it’s SO FUNNY to scratch whatever couch I’m sitting on. He makes sure I’m there before he does it. Stinker!

-grin- Oh Sweetie Pie…why am I not surprised? As for Tipper, I wonder what’s going through his handsome little head? D’you think he’s ‘protecting’ you from the chair? Or fighting it for your affections? -shakes head in bemusement-

I think he’s just like a kid: “How far can I aggravate Momma before she does that dance where her eyes bug out and she hollers so loud the neighbors come over to see if she won the lottery?”

Aww, yeah, our cats get trapped lots in Moo’s room. It’s a thing. I think it’s a nice hidey spot, dark and warmer, plus soooo many blankets!
Too bad about those bandit cats, having to find another place. My grandmother fed a raccoon for years. She’d scurry up the tree to hop on the deck, and we’d watch her eat, and sometimes, her baby ones came up with her. Fond memories 🙂
