Tipper Meets Corm #Caturday

Hi, there! I’m Tipper Allen, and guess what? I found out something else I like to eat besides bugs!

Momma and Poppa go to the farmers market twice a week, but they never bring home any farmers, just vegebobbles. This week, they put some of the vegebobbles inna sack to give to #2 Daughter. Naturally, being a good, fierce guard kitty, I hadda aspect the bags in case, like, bad Martians or other cats or something got innem.

Whassat?
Izza what? Izza corm?
I bite! Nom, nom, nom….

So I bited the corm’s end off and eated it up! It was very chewy and yummy. Better than bugs, but not wiggly. #2 Daughter said, “He’ll hack that up before long.” But I didn’t! I kep it! I don’t hack up my fuds, I eat it an’ keep it!

Wonder what they bring home next!

Hi Tipper – I love corm, I generally prefer to have it cooked and I like to peel off the part you ate, but to each his own, as they say. One of our cats would go crazy for the stringy things sticking out of the corm. We have to keep those away from her, cause she will hack ’em up. Next time, look for beams or peez – those are good too.

Sorry there;s no ‘Like’ button today – but I like your post. I think you know that.

πŸ˜€ He was eating the stalk end, not even the stringy end, which wouldn’t have surprised me. But, no, he was chewing off the stalky bit. Maybe he’s teething. I’m sorry the ‘Like’ button has disappeared again; I thought switching themes had fixed that. πŸ™

    Tipper is tote dorbs πŸ™‚
I gave Sadie a corn cob once, expecting her to nibble off all the kernels as former dogs have done. She ate the whole dang thing. I now cut off an end for her. Frightened me and I never did ask the vet whether that was “safe.” I’m sure corn and fiber are good for doggos, but probably not in that quantity. :O

Considering all the unthinkable things canines eat in the wild, there’s no telling what’s safe and what isn’t. The vet prolly wouldn’t have known, anyway. God knows science and industry feed US pert much everthang a corn stalk produces, so….

I once had a cat who liked bread, especially if it had butter and a bit of ham on it, but no corms. You are one strange boy, Tipper. πŸ™‚

I had a cat who would get on the table, bat the pantry door until it bounced open, climb inside, and claw through aluminum foil to get to cornbread. Plain, dry cornbread. That was the inappropriately named Miss Tiffany. And Alexander Russianpants kept begging me for canned peas until I gave him some, saying, “Look. Kitties don’t LIKE peas.” Of course, he ate them and begged for more. Cats. Gotta love ’em!
