Slow Down, Dawg! #FoundPoem

This is another entry that comes under the heading of You Know What You Mean and I Know What You Mean But It Amuses Me To Pretend You Mean What You Say.

From our local weekly paper’s call-in line, I give you this “poem”:

Slow Down, Dawg

by Anonymous Caller

Concerning the new stop signs
at Fogel and Shiloh,
I don’t know about
auto accidents,
but I have seen
many dogs and chickens
in the intersection,
so I think those
stop
signs
are a good idea.

~*~

So do I. Nothing sadder than a chicken with paw prints on her back.

I’m posting today at Fatal Foodies about panchookies.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Write about seeing a dog and/or a chicken in an intersection.

Why didn’t the chicken cross the road? Because the sign said “Stop”

Sorry. But while I’m here, if the dog stops because a sign tells him too, another sign better be prepared to give the dog a treat.

And another, it occurs to me, to tell him when he can go again.
