Cimmammum Toas’ #Food #Vegan #Vegetarian

Something gave me a taste for cimmammum toas’ (or, as you adults would call it, cinnamon toast), so I made some.

Cinnamon toast is kin to cinnamon bread, which is kin to sugar bread, which is kin to butter bread. And when I say “butter,” understand that I mean butter or vegan margarine. It goes like this:

Butter Bread

Spread butter on bread. Eat it.

Sugar Bread

Spread butter on bread. Sprinkle it (or smother it) with sugar. Eat it.

Cinnamon Bread

Spread butter on bread. Sprinkle it with ground cinnamon. Sprinkle it (or smother it) with sugar. Eat it.

Cinnamon Toast

Make Cinnamon Bread. Heat it until the sugar melts, maybe until the sugar browns and crusts up into a buttery, sugary, cinnamony creme brulee deliciousness. Eat it.

I usually stick my Cinnamon Bread under the toaster-oven’s broiler to heat it. If you have a fancy-schmancy brulee torch, you could use that. You could do it in a skillet, in a pinch. I suppose one COULD wrap the cinnamon bread in foil, put your toaster on its side, and melt the sugar that way, although it probably wouldn’t be crispy.

ANYWAY, it was super good!

A WRITING PROMPT FOR YOU: Have a character melt something. Or write about sugar.

Ah-hah, you had cimmammum toast and I had cimmammum roll oatmeal and coffee with a splash of pum’kin spice creamer. Here’s to a spicy day.
