Wonderful, Healthy Cranes at Teotihuacan #FridayRecommends

Friday RecommendsI’m taking on a new challenge in 2018, because I need another challenge, yeah? This is a good one, though. It’s the “Deal Me In” Short Story Reading Challenge. This is gonna be fun!

Okay, Christmas is over, but New Year’s Eve/Day are coming up, and you need some HEALTHY recipes. You DO! So here are some Healthy Holiday Recipes from The Food Revolution Network that prove forebber that eating vegan and gluten-free is not a privation. It’s just food, people.

Now, you’ve heard of people folding paper cranes. You’ve heard of people folding 1000 paper cranes. But you’ve never seen anything like these paper cranes, 1000 folded and decorated in 1000 days by the same person. “Fabulous” doesn’t begin to address it.

Have you ever wished you could go back in time and explore ruins as they looked in their prime, without all those pesky people getting in the way and expecting you to conform to their time and society? The deYoung Museum in San Francisco has an exhibit on Teotihuacan, which includes a download of a Minecraft map of the site. You can walk through a Minecraft recreation of the city, viewing it by night and by day, exploring every inch that’s been found and mapped so far. No, I’m not going to. Because I’ll be reading short stories, that’s why. But I think it’s way cool. You don’t have to visit the museum in order to get the download, BTW.

A WRITING PROMPT BASED ON MY POST: A character explores a place. Any place: city, forest, castle, neighborhood, house.

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.
