Anudder Imbader! #Caturday

Hi, there! I’m Tipper Allen, and guess what? Anudder fing has imbaded my howse!

Poppa came in last Toosday and said, “Look what I found in the shed.”

It was dis fing!

Poppa looked for a nest of other ones or for a momma one, but he couldn’t find them. My #1 hooman Sister from next door looked, too, but she couldn’t find them. Poppa tooked it back out in case its momma came for it, but she never did. So my momma went out and boughted it a bottle and some baby food like babies eat and Poppa broughted it back in.

It sucked onna eyedropper anna bottle like a baby, and went to sleep.

Poppa fed it. Poppa! He’s alla time saying how cats are pests and everyfing! But look!

Momma asked me what I thought about it, and I told her.

But Poppa luuuuuuuuuuuves the stinky fing, even though it doesn’t even have a name, cause it’s a smelly baby.

Momma says I’m a big man cat now, and I can ignore it or I can be nice to it like Poppa is because it’s just a baby and I’m a big strong man cat. She says it’s Poppa’s baby and I’ll always be her one.

I fink it would be nice if I builded it a howse of its own.

Wood – check. Hammer – check. Nails – check. Opposable fumbs – *sigh*

So I guess I’m stuck wif it for now. Momma says she finks it’s a girl, like Sweetie Pie. I don’t care. I’m still not scared of it.

p.s. Momma wants me to tell you that Story A Day May is cebetrating the May stories this weekend.

A WRITING PROMPT FOR ANIMALS: Did you ever have a smelly baby in your howse?

Uh, oh. Maybe it will be easier if Tipper has position as top cat, and a subordinate.

Best of luck with that – and kittens grow up quickly, ready to take their place in the world.

I’ve been making a bigger deal than usual with Tipper — He’s been wanting extra snuggles, and I’ve been indulging him.

Oh….trying so hard not to coo! So Poppa has adopted the baby. That must make you her Big Brother, Tipper. You’ll have to protect her from all those monsters out there. right?…Right?

Charlie has already impressed upon him that he isn’t to interfere with her. But I think, as Alicia said, she’ll interfere with him PLENTY as she finds her place in the house. I’ve been making more of a fuss over him, and he’s loving it! If he can associate that with the kitten, maybe he’ll end up being positive about her.

Oh my goodness! I never find anything so furry and adorable in MY shed! How exciting!
We had two kittens my roommate brought home from Evansville once. They were the abandoned kittens of a barn cat mama, She’d abandon each litter after a few weeks, repeatedly, she’d had many litters. Not all her kittens made it. So he brought home two, which we de-flea-ded and bottle fed and put in litter boxes made of shoe box lids. My cat at the time did not like the kittens. She was horrible jealous. We gave one to a friend and I kept the other, Ticker. Ticker grew to be a sorta slim cat with extraordinarily long legs. Her sister Cleo grew to be enormous, big-boned and massive mane. I wonder what Poppa’s itty bitty baby will turn out like?
Ticker and my then cat became great sisters, cuddly and all that, but my then cat was always my baby. Always. Tipper needn’t worry.

Good news to hear, Joey! Charlie’s baby is sick today. We took her to the vet for her first check-up and he “gave” (read: SOLD) us some kitty probiotics to put in her Catmilk, and I think it disagreed with her. We’re not giving her any more, just hoping she recovers. 🙁
