Leftover Soup #NotVegetarian #NotKosher

Y’all know I love leftover soup. The ingredients are: Whatever you have left over that seem like it would be good together.

This one started with this:

Surprisingly boring.

HOWEVER, I put the ones we didn’t eat in this:

Along with this stuff:

cauliflower, carrots, mushrooms, sliced sausages, celery, black beans, hominy, barley, veg bouillon, godknowswhat

And it made some damn fine soup.

I would call this Damn Fine Soup, but I’ll never make it again, because I’ll never have exactly those leftovers in exactly those proportions.

I’m posting today at Fatal Foodies about where some of those leftovers came from.

A WRITING PROMPT BASED ON MY POST: Write about something that appears wonderful but, in reality, is less so.

Thanks, Dan. When you grow up po’, you learn to waste as little as possible. And that Instant Pot makes soup taste AMAZING.

Steffie walked carefully down the street, avoiding shadows, and other dangers. Finally, she came to a lovely stained glass door, surrounded by a gorgeous metallic blue painted trim. “Soup and Sandwich Shoppe”, the sign said. She knew she was at the right place. She went in, and picked an obscure corner table with 2 chairs.

Shortly after, the Agency Big Boss, Marian, walked in. She joined Steffie. Steffie wasted no time. “We have a problem. Pete is aggravating me with his stupid jokes and puns.”

Marian nodded wisely. “I know, it is one of his mental defficien — er, quirks.”

Steffie sighed: “Well, DO Something about it.”

So Marian, knowing Pete is a glutton, wrote the post you see above. Pete clutched his guts, and rolled around on the floor in agony! “Nooooo! That looks so delicious! And there is none for me! Moan! Whimper! ”

Meanwhile… Steffie and Marion enjoyed their chicken salads. About 1/2 hour later, Pete recovered.

    The end.

Feel free to re-use, reduce, recycle, or toss out what you like, or do not like!

ROTFLOL! You are so funny! But don’t cry — there is always another delicious soup to be made. After all, Steffie can never make the same hit twice, but you always enjoy each new one.
