Customer Service #1LinerWeds

This one-liner comes courtesy of a friend and fellow writer who writes fabulous modern fantasies under the name of Eli Cobb.

She reported the following conversation between a friend/relative of hers and the waitress at an unnamed restaurant.

Friend/relative: What’s this oily milky liquid my egg is in?

Waitress:

I don’t know, but I’m sure it’s fine.

Yeah, uh-huh, I would be like, “You don’t know what your tip is going to be, either, but I hope you’re fine with nothing. Is nothing fine?”

This post is part of Linda G. Hill’s weekly blog hop, One-Liner Wednesday. If you have a one-liner or just like them, follow the link.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Write about iffy food. Or poor customer service.

I’d have handed the waitress a fork and said, “You first, then.”

That egg sounded so nasty! It probably WAS okay. It was probably a mix of butter and uncooked white from an egg put in to cook just as this one was taken off the pan, but still….
