Tipper Solves the Mystery #Caturday

Hi, there! I’m Tipper Allen, and guess what? I found out what the surprise is that Momma said was coming.

Momma and Poppa have been walking up to my hooman sister #1 Daughter’s house every day at least once. They come back smelling like other cats. Well, all my hooman sisters have cats (except for #4 Daughter, who has a chinchilly), so that didn’t bother me much.

Then one day they came home and smelled really lots like another cat. They went into one of the upstairs bedrooms and closed theย door. Then they stopped walking up to #1 Daughter’s, and they went into that bedroom and wouldn’t let me in and they still smelled like another cat!

Finally, Momma came out of that bedroom with the go-to-the-vet carrier, and showed me the surprise. She said her name is Chickie.

Oh, look. A kitten.

I should have known!

Momma made this cool toy, and then it disappeared!

Momma showed me pictures, and the dumb kitten didn’t even know which end to play with!

But she learned.

And my good tunnel disappeared!

Chickie broke it! Poppa fixed it and brought it back downstairs where it belongs. Ha!

I wanted to go in and really meet her, so Momma let me in.

Chickie is fierce!

I like her, though.

I think.

P.S. Her name is Chickie, butย I think it ought to be belosiwapter.

P.P.S. Momma says I’ve been writing too baby-talk-y. She says I’m a big boy now and I hafta write more grown-uppy. I just wanted her to love me best when she was so sad about Daisy-kitten dying. She says she loves me as much big as she loves kittens little. So I guess it’s safe for me to be big. What do you think?

A WRITING PROMPT FOR ANIMALS: Do you think hoomans love big cats as much as they love baby kittens?

Your the big man of the house now, Tipper. I think it’s time. But don’t ever lose the kitten inside you.

    Chickie is pretty cute ๐Ÿ™‚

Chickie is adorable! My big man took and bit the hell out of my arm this morning, for no reason at all. I mean, HARD. So hard, I have a bruise around one of the punctures. I hadn’t even been up to see Chickie yet. I guess just having her in the house is discombobulating. He really does want to be with her and play, but he’s so big and strong and he still thinks he’s a wee kitten. It’ll work out, but we’re being very careful about her. I may start wearing vambraces on my arms, though.

I think, if the kitten is healthy, the talk will adjust of itself.

It’s hard for the older ‘sibling’ – my mother brought home usurpers four times! But she was so sad when she lost one, it was better to just put up with the newcomer. Eventually, they lead to more freedom for the older ones (unless the mother needs a lot of help), and the development of new skills suitable to growing up.

It is the way of life, and we all have to learn it. I guess, looking back, that being an only child would have been more difficult.

I both was and was not an only child, and also was and was not a twin. I was the only child of a single mother, but we shared housing and expenses with another single mother and her little girl. The other girl was a year or so older than I was, but we were “born” into the “family” at the same time. A strange dynamic.

Yes, Tipper has to be the leader now, responsible for teaching all the Secrets of Cathood to a new kitten. It is a BIG job. I think they will get along well.

The kitten comes from a feral colony, with two moms and many big brothers and sisters, so I think she could teach Tipper a thing or two! He’s very confused right now. lol

Congratulations, Tipper! I know it hurt when little Daisy couldn’t stay. Now you have a little sister again. You’ll have so much fun playing with Chickie. You’ll never be bored again. -huge hugs-

Tipper wants to play with Chickie, but we won’t let him play very long. He doesn’t realize how much bigger and stronger he is. As a matter of fact, neither does she! We’re afraid he’ll hurt her inadvertently. He certainly hurts ME without intending to!

Yeah, Tipper is like a big kid who doesn’t know his own strength. And Chickie is a feisty little thing! Once they’re more equal in size, they should be good for each other. ๐Ÿ™‚

AW! I love the sideways back-arching hop that kittens do more often than cats! Kittens are so cute to watch, but thank goodness they grow up into Tippers, because that’s where all the very best snuggles are. I’m sure Tipper and Chickie will be great friends, right after she establishes her realm ๐Ÿ˜›

I’m with you all the way, Joey! So glad to meet someone else who likes cats more than kittens. Kittens are cute, but they will Wear. You. Out. Yeah, that hope was killin’ me, especially how she kept bumping into the bottom of the bed. We’re monitoring their interactions really closely now, because Tipper is big enough to swallow her whole, and she be like, “BRING IT!”

LOL but also OH NO! ๐Ÿ˜›

Yeah, I like kids way more than babies, too. I prefer animals of a more independent and calm nature ๐Ÿ˜‰

Teach each other they will. Learn from them, you must soon. Felinic times ahead!

There is no “try”, but “trying” there definitely is. As in, “A trying situation.”

Well, people have said I “am trying” for decades. But then these are the times that try good men from bad! The cats will acclimatize, unite, and manage their hewmans. Here is hoping the hewmans learn their place!
