Playhouse Retrospective #ThursdayDoors

Norm Frampton, photographer extraordinaire and keeper of the portal for Thursday Doors, is taking the rest of the year off. He invites us dooristas to use today as a retrospective of our favorite doors of the year.

Whereas I always have to be different, and

Whereas I told Joey I would post pictures of the playhouses in our back yard

Therefore I’m doing that. Not the thing I’m supposed to do, the thing Joey asked me to do. Because Joey.

I wrote a Thursday Doors post about the tall playhouse in October of 2015, and one about the Crooked House in December of that same year. Lots more pictures and stories to go with them.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Write about a playhouse.

Heh. It really does. It never was, though, unless you count the chickens, who do whatever wherever and whenever.

The recap was just a suggestion anyway so no worries if there are a few free spirits who decide to go their own way šŸ˜€
Both of these are adorable choices.
Thanks so much Marian for being a part of our quirky group of door nerds.
Merry Christmas and all the best to you and yours for 2019 – cheers!

Charlie did a great job. Stairs go right up to the stained glass unicorn at the top. Sara had a lot of fun there. She had a museum there of things she had found and dug up around the place. Now she’s an archaeologist. I kid you not.

Cute doors! I read from your “about” section that you were born in Louisville. My grandmother was born near there and she moved to Cincinnati area where I grew up (same neck of the woods). I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful new year. See you in 2019. =)

Aw! For meeee? Thank you! I think I had only just begun reading you when I read about the playhouses. They really are somethin! Love em! I always wanted one, or a treehouse. I had a treehouse for a very short time at a rental home. I think I still miss it!
My girls had a plastic one. Hardly the same, but they liked it still.

Middle Grandson had a plastic one. Much easier to clean than the wooden ones. And, between kids and insects and woodland critters, they do get messy!
