A Grandmother’s Advice #1LinerWeds

Fasten your seatbelts because, yes, this is from MY grandmother.

Sometimes, when someone would say goodbye to her, my dear old gray-headed granny’s parting words were,

Be good; if you can’t be good, be careful; if you can’t be careful, name it after me.

My dear old gray-headed granny was a red-hot chili pepper.

This post is part of Linda G. Hill’s weekly blog hop, One-Liner Wednesday. If you have a one-liner or just like them, follow the link.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Write about your dear old gray-headed granny. Or whatever kind you have or had or imagine.

Wonderful! Who doesn’t like a little sass in their granny?

Sounds like something Grandma Holton would say. She was another one with sass.

LOL! I’m going to remember that one!

I use to tell my children if they couldn’t be a good example then at least they’d be a horrible warning. I don’t know who first said it to give credit where credit is due, but I loved it and there were times they were warnings! ?

Our family version ends, “…If you can’t be good, invite me along.” No, not from my forebears. Just from life.

That’s great! I’ll be laughing for a bit over that one.
