I can’t remember if I shared this before, but it bears repeating.
One of my dear high school buddies with whom I had lunch recently retired from teaching primary school. She shared this teaching experience with me, which has lightened all my days ever since.
She had been teaching about the Panama Canal, and one of the questions on the test was to list some of the dangers in constructing it.
- malaria
- heat
- thirst
- snow flies
…Wait a minute. “Snow flies”?
The child explained:
“They said they had to finish before the snow flies.”
Yeah. I’d hurry, too.
