Story Published, and You’ll Never Guess What It’s About!

Click-bait, much?

Okay, so I heard Reedsy.com had a title generator, genre-specific, and the Southern Indiana Writers Group had just decided our anthology theme for this issue would be art meets science. So I went to Reedsy and asked it to generate me a science fiction title.

What did I get?

“2619: Prayer”

I was like, “What the fuck?” I was like, “Seriously?” Like, “As if.” Like, “I cannot do anything with that!”

And then, being a contrary cuss, I did.

The title of the anthology is APOLLO AND ATHENA WALK INTO A BAR: (ART MEETS SCIENCE). My story is “2619: Prayer”, a science fiction story about loss and hope. Samples of some of the stories (including mine) can be found on the Southern Indiana Writers Group website.

The book is available in print and for Kindle through Amazon, or by order through your friendly neighborhood bookstore with the ISBN #1942166621.

Reedsy also has story ideas, a character name generator, writing prompts and exercises, self-publishing tools and resources–oh, many things!

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Write about something outside your usual bailiwick. (Also, look up “bailiwick” if you don’t know what it means.)

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

Sorry. I think I’ve extended my bailiwick as far as it is capable of stretching.

Wish I had the energy for more reading, but it is what it is, and writing awaits.

Meanwhile, you have fun. No prompt is going to stop YOU. Great!

You just keep on doing what you’re doing, my lady. I’m refraining from rereading PURGATORY until I have book 2 in my hot little hands. Then I’ll read them one after the other. When book 3 is in my greedy possession, I’ll read all three. 🙂

I think it’s a pretty good title, and I’m sure you wrote something great for it.
