Gearpunk to the Max #DealMeIn19

Oh. My. God. TMW you go to Daily Science Fiction because your Deal Me In short story reading challenge tells you to, and MIND … BLOWN !

As usual, I clicked on the Transporter to take me to a random story. Wow. Just wow.

Clockwork

by Andrew James Dykstal

The man’s wife is coughing up blood. And gears. And the story doesn’t go anywhere near where you expect it to.

Brilliant. Beautifully written, original, flying free of “this is how the story goes” limitations.

Andrew James Dykstal is a federal proposal writer by day and fiction author by night, weekend, and lunch break. When not writing, he’s reading strange books in stranger locations, wandering the wineries and wilds of Virginia, or trying to build something so spectacular in Kerbal Space Program that NASA will finally return his calls. In his youth, and long before the associated meme, he took an arrow to the knee.

WHY DOES HE NOT HAVE MORE STORIES? WHY DOES HE NOT HAVE NOVELS? WHY DOES HE NOT HAVE A WEBSITE?

Andrew James Dykstal, you’re killin’ me, Smalls!

About

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

I saved your email for a free moment.

The wait was worthwhile; Clockwork Human was thought-provoking, disturbing and wholly satisfying.
    Thanks for sharing the link!

    Cheers,
