I think most people know what a twofer is. For those who don’t: a twofer is when you bargain for one thing and get two. Two for one. Twofer.

ANYWAY, today’s one-liner is a twofer.

My family watched entirely too much television which, back in those early days, was pretty much televised vaudeville. So we were all big on one-liners, and we were all big on “toppers”: topping one one-liner with another.

Oh–here’s a bonus one-liner to set it up:

There’s many a slip ‘twixt the cup and the lip.

So, let any crumb of food or drop of drink fail to make it to its intended destination, and somebody would say:

How could you miss getting it into something that size?

And somebody else would certainly top it with:

It’s hard to hit a moving target.

Ba-dum-bum-ching!
