Slug that Shadowy Baby! #FridayRecommends

Friend and fellow writer Andrea Gilbey in England said something that made me happy and excited, and I replied thusly:

~poing poing~

She didn’t know the reference, although, when I explained it, she understood it’s what she calls “tiggering”. After, you know, Tigger.

But it’s Kiki who poings. Kiki the ferret, from Sluggy Freelance. Best. Comic. Ever.

Then another friend told me she’d never heard of Dark Shadows! I was like, “Am I in an alternate universe or something??” Hmmm…. Now that I think about it, both of those shares involve vampires. So possibly so.

On pretty much the not-creepy-at-all end of the creepiness spectrum, there’s this baby who cooks. Roman. Roman has his own cooking channel.

Here’s his first video. You’re welcome.

Someone has never heard of Dark Shadows? That is surprising, but think of the joy they’ll get when watching Barnabas et al for the first time.

The video is hilarious. Who doesn’t like ALL the hearts and ALL the stars on their cake? Oh my.

I doubt she’ll ever watch DS. I did introduce my mother to it a couple of years before she passed. She got sick and tired of hearing me babble on about it in my teen years, but she got hooked on it when I showed her the DVDs of the 1897 sequence.

That baby, though! He’s still cooking at 3. I’ll be interested to see if he keeps it up. Since he smells and tastes everything he puts into his recipes, I suspect he’s a natural-born cook.

I was NOT intending to watch the whole video – but that is a hilarious editing, and a star in the making.

I don’t care how much prompting went into it (very creative grownup involved) – to get the result. Art. That’s what it is.

    Many thanks.

You are so right! I have to limit myself to one of his videos a night so I don’t gobble them all up at once!
