Lexington Opera House #ThursdayDoors #BlackViolin

First, THANK YOU, JOEY, for introducing me to the music of Black Violin!!!!

Black Violin, singly and together, are made entirely of awesome. Srsly.

The amazing Sara Marian and her also amazing SO, Zak, took me to the Lexington (Kentucky) Opera House to see Black Violin live in concert. What a beautiful venue, and what a terrific set of programs they offer!

Here are pictures, doors included.

a power box we passed on the way
Don’t worry. Zak was driving.
It’s a door. It IS!
former church, now antiques
Gates count.
front doors of opera house
They all had these scarves, and each wore hers differently.
She claimed she was unphotogenic.
Lights for Joey.
Happy Guy is happy.
Miss Unphotogenic told me to take this picture.
Boxes opposite. There are doors in there.
Empty stage. Dig those drums!

Unlike some people, Black Violin encourage flash photography and filming, but I preferred to be in the moment. This was before what I’m calling Fiddlegate.

ANYWAY, if you don’t know Black Violin (or even if you do), here’s their latest video:

You’re welcome.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Someone shows off at a concert.

    What a great experience.
Oh the pressure, of coming up with a new scarf design.

LOL! It WAS a great experience, Jackie. When we got back to Louisville, we went to a pub and saw my birthday in. 🙂

Some awesome doors in Lexington and that opera house looks like an amazing place to catch a concert.
I had never heard of Black Violin so thanks to you and Joey for that. From the video they seem very almost as focused on the visuals as much as the music. Maybe that’s what’s needed to get younger folks interested in music that’s not in the pop/top 40 mold.
Fun post Marian. I enjoyed this a lot.

In concert, there’s a little stage dancing by one of the guys, but’s it’s all about the music. FanTAStic!

Great post! I have to come back later to listen, unless I want to share with everyone in this waiting room.

        THANKS!
        The pictures ALSO helped.
The violins were ice, but loud — another day.

Eyes cant focus, ringing in ears. Head pounding.
        It is the weather.
