Getting towards the end, I took Mom to the doctor and went into her appointments with her.
Once, the nurse took Mom’s blood pressure and found it much lower than it usually was. The nurse said she would go do a thing and come back and take it again, and maybe it would have normalized.
When she took it again, it was much higher than it usually was. She said, “What happened while I was out of the room?”
I told her, “I just leaned over and whispered, Johnny Depp. Johnny Depp.”
And the nurse said:
“Maybe you should have just said it once.”
