Truffles. Not the Pig Kind.

These are so easy, I make them a lot. Even when I mess them up, they’re good.

I put the white chocolate one on the top, because it’s perfect. The chocolate ones, I saved time by just slopping them out. The white ones, I did an extra step of rolling them into roundnesses.

So you take half a bag of chocolate chips, add about two tablespoons of butter or margarine and a tablespoon or two of cream. Put that in the microwave for 30 seconds. Then additional 30 secondses until you can stir it and melt it the rest of the way.

Then I added a teaspoon of rosewater to the white chocolate, and vanilla to the dark chocolate. But add whatever you want. Chili pepper, orange liqueur, whatever.

Cover it with plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator.

When it’s cool enough to scoop, scoop it by teaspoonsful onto a baking sheet lined with waxed paper. Put it back to cool more. If it’s still sloppy, put it in the freezer.

Take the baking sheet out and roll the blobs between your palms into spheres and put it in the freezer.

Melt candy coating in the microwave or a double boiler. Take the spheres out of the freezer and dip them into the melted chocolate. Put them on another tray lined with waxed paper.

You can sift confectioner’s sugar over them or roll them in ground nuts or whatever.

They’re best when the centers are soft at room temperature, but they’re good even if you get the proportions wrong and they’re solid in the middle. A very forgiving recipe, and people are generally impressed. Ish.

I’m posting at Fatal Foodies today in recommendation of a vegan recipe site I plan to visit more in the future.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Someone messes up a recipe, but it’s still good.

WordPress needs to add a replicator option so I can test 1 or 2 or 6 of these. They sound delicious.

They’re easy to make. If you can make all the stuff you do, you can make these, easy-peasy! Maybe they’ll have them at the bar sometime. lol

Truffles: so easy! Addictive! Nothing that fattening should be that easy to make.
