Veg and Dumps

I had to have this because of my cold. Bugger is hanging on like a hair in a biscuit.

Sometimes I make this vegetarian, but this wasn’t, because I used a can of cream of chicken soup and three cups of chicken broth. Because cold.

Okay, so I started with the broth, brought it to a boil, and put the Reames frozen flat dumplings in. When those were done, I stirred in a can of cream of mushroom, a can of cream of chicken, and a can of mixed veg. Also, some Penzeys fines herbs and some sage and parsley from my herb boxes.

Yes, it would have been much better with fresh veg and stock made from slow-roasted chicken bones, but COLD, folks.

It would also have been good with all veg soup/stock, but, you know, COLD.

Charlie didn’t like it, because it’s thick. He likes brothy soups. Leaves more for me.

I’m posting today at Fatal Foodies about vegan cheese which is, IMO, far, far better than dairy. Belicious!

“Leaves more for me.” I like that.

I hope you’re feeling better soon.

Oh my. Ik hope that the COLD doesn’t become too HOT. Feel better soon, dear Sister. What’s it with chickens and human health?
Sending over steaming hot tea and warmest hugs to get rid of the cold.

I prefer a thicker bowl, myself. I hate how when I’m sick, it’s soup from a can and when they’re sick, they get the good stuff because I’m well enough to cook it. I understand about the COLD. I’m sure you’re well now.

You need a secret freezer, so you can make the good stuff and freeze it for when YOU’RE sick. Or make it and can it. I never canned soup, but it obviously can be done.
