Chinese Noodles

I don’t remember how I got onto The Woks of Life, but I did. One of the first recipes they emailed me was this one for Chinese noodles. I’m supposed to be laying off pasta, potatoes, and white bread, but I mean really.

I halved the recipe. I kind of semi-eyeballed the water, which was a mistake, because I think I put in just a wee tad too little. Since they stress not to add more, I didn’t add more, and my dough was a bit too stiff.

I only cooked half of the noodles I made, and they weren’t bad, since we like ’em toothsome, but I wasn’t quite satisfied. Here they are, cooked, with water-fried cabbage.

I cooked the other half in soup, and simmered them for about 15 minutes. They were perfect! So I think my answer is to be more careful with the measurements and roll the dough thinner.

I’m writing today at Fatal Foodies about another Chinese-ish dish made with mostly leftovers, how I do.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Someone gets a measurement wrong.

    Yummy! Looks good to me!
Our Receptionist is from NH and when she spoke about her fiance’s family (Southern Illinois) coming in and what she’d be serving, she listed blah and blah “and his aunt is bringing noodles, whatever that means.” Well I almost died. She thought buttered No Yolks. I had to explain noodles and I’m eager to see what she thought. I sure hope his aunt makes gooooooood noodles, we wouldn’t want her to be left without a love of noodles.

I know, right? Around here, the churches always advertise if they have noodles at their fund-raising dinners. People flock to ’em!

      #1) Charlie doesn’t do hot
      #2) We’re practically vegan
#3) The only chicken feet we can find around here are still attached to living chickens, and they object to giving them up.

I’ll just save my pennies and come to your house and eat yours. 😀

Me- I’m indolent. I buy my noodles pre-made and just toss ’em in boiling water for 7 minutes.
Glad to see someone is industrious.

I usually just buy noodles, but this looked easy. And it was, except for 15 minutes of kneading stiff dough. lol GOOOOOOD noodles, though.
