But wait! There’s more! In case you don’t already know, lemme tell you about Project Gutenberg, the great grand-daddy of eBooks! For decades, people have been digitizing public domain books and making them available free for nothin’ at Project Gutenberg. They also have audiobooks. You can use it for free, you can donate, or you can participate in adding to the library. Kewl!
Nails. Gawd. Sometimes I just cannot get it right. I had a very clear idea of what I wanted my nails to look like, and it totally didn’t work out. Long story, not telling it, but I used a hella lot of acetone undoing bad jobs. Finally just slapped on some of my beloved Sally Hanson Insta-Dry Silver Stallion (ooooohhh — is anybody else shivering?). I used a couple of different plates for various snowflake designs and Born Pretty’s Pure white stamping polish.
I have, since I took this picture, topped it with a couple of coats of Pop-arazzi’s City Sparkle holo taco. Yes, there is a wrinkle in the polish on my bird finger. It was that kind of session.

January 27, 2020 at 9:36amProject Gutenberg is wonderful. The block editor is horrible. To keep the two from being confused, I’m going to refer to WP’s Block Editor as ‘Glutenberg’ because of the terrible feeling users get in the pit of their stomach after using it.

January 27, 2020 at 7:25pmAs soon as my host (without my permission) changed my WP version, I added the plugin to cease using Gutenberg. His bible is great- his WordPress version sucks the air out of the environment.

January 28, 2020 at 9:18amWordPress said they were going to phase out the old editor, so I decided to pretend they already had and to do what I need to do with the tools I have — just as I did when I started using the old editor. I would still be coding my blog in Notebook and uploading it, but they kept changing the coding and I didn’t have time to keep up and live any other life. I resent the changes Gutenberg made that do away with the things I got used to doing, but eventually developers will either bring those features back or offer plug-ins that do them. Meanwhile, we could join Dan in fighting the good fight with the WordPress “Happiness Engineers”.

January 28, 2020 at 7:51amI’ve started using Guttenberg. Yes, I have. -sigh- Some bits are good, but having the floating control panel is really really annoying as it gets in the way all the time. Not having all the functions visible and /reachable/ all the time is annoying too. Having to hunt for functions wastes my time and my temper. Plus it’s more clicks. Can I sue for RSI? Plus if I want to have just one word in a different colour, I have to hunt for the ‘classic’ block [classic = old editor] do what I need to and then swap back to Guttenberg. I wouldn’t mind the blocks if only they worked as well as the old classic. -grump-

January 28, 2020 at 9:21amThat hunting for functions thing does get old. The color thing, though, I’ve got beat. This plug-in: https://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-rich-text-tools/ says it isn’t certified (or whatever) with this version of WordPress, but it works fine for me. I don’t have a floating control panel! There must be a setting that anchors it. Mine sits on the edge of my screen like a good dog.
