I Get Doors With a Little Help From My Friends #ThursdayDoors

Friend and award-winning fellow writer Joanna Foreman recently visited Florida and sent me this door picture.

Isn’t that delightful? I especially love the pineapples on the door mat. In case you didn’t know, pineapples have long been a symbol of hospitality. That’s why you sometimes see pineapples on the entrance gates to big old houses.

Thursday Doors is the brainchild of Norm Frampton, photographer extraordinaire. Visit his site, enjoy his photographs, follow his directions, and enter a world of doors.

A WRITING PROMPT FROM ME TO YOU: Write about hospitality.

I was born in Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in the woods in southern Indiana. Though I only write fiction, I love to read non-fiction. The more I learn about this world, the more fantastic I see it is.

Isn’t it fun when our friends enable our hobbies? That’s a beautiful entrance.

I never knew that about Pineapples. So that means all those fruits ripening in my window are welcoming birds?

This is lovely. So sweet of your friend to think of you. I had no idea about pineapples and hospitality either.

Oh, your friend sent you a lovely door! I love the color and the soft dappled shadows.

It’s very appealing. If I didn’t get overheated so easily, I’d love to visit Florida, if only for the colors and the light. 🙂
